Too young to model? 6-year old models in French VOGUE
I mean, is it just me or are models getting younger and younger? And where are their parents?!
I started modeling when I was 12 and remember hating it. I remember thinking everyone was being mean and all the other girls talking about their boyfriends and me (being 12 and all) having nothing to add to the conversation...yeah...awkward. In retrospect, no one was being mean at all but at that young age it was not possible for me to comprehend the industry I was apart of.
The industry is hard enough for women as is, bringing children into this is ridiculous!!!

This...is a little weird and creepy. I wouldn't have a problem with this if it had some sort of artistic merit to it, showing off the innocence of youth and all that jazz. This just seems like exploitation. Why are we dressing up kids as adults?

ReplyDeleteOkay, is this Vogue's idea of the whole, dress up game girls play with mama's nice clothes and jewelry? Are the girls suppose to be playing dress up but not emulating mama, but high fashion models instead? Young girls do not idolize their mother's any more? just fashion models? This spread addresses more issues than stated in this blog. Whatever Vogue's genius artistic vision.... this is creepy looking I don't sense dress up in this spread, but that's probably because I am constantly hearing of crimes against children, from molestation to pedophiles. yuck!

When i was a kid i always wanted to be older i wanted to have bigger boobs and i wanted to wear high=heels and make-up so i would say its really the kids choice but dont force the child to do it if they dont want to.

wow when i was a kid i wanted to grow up and be come a VS model or a vogue model but i never wanted to be 6 years old and doing what these little girls are doing even if i wanted to my parents would never accept speaking of parents what do think about this(i mean the parents of these young little girls)

ReplyDeletethere are several questions which could be asked, for starters Vogue is a very big company the fact they took in very young girls such as Thylane means there's something behind it, what was there objective by doing that? i should note that they have very skilled marketing directors therefor they targeted a certain group in this case very young girls, by targetting that specific age group they knew that they would make money out of it so the fault should not be put on them, they were just doing their jobs and had one aim which was to make money and this is the ugly truth, ten year old girls nowadays do dress like that it is not because vogue took it to their advantage that they should be criticized. Even thought i am completely against this campaign but i'm very sorry to inform all of you that the fault isnt on them.
