Guide to Spring 2011 trends from Toronto's LG Fashion week

Prints
Prints of all sizes and colours from charming to wild were seen by the collections of Christian Dior and Miu Miu. Pink Tartan, Lovas, Jules Power and Denis Gagnon continued the trend here in Toronto.

Brights/Colour Blocking

Rich Jewel Tones and vibrant colour combinations were a refreshing change to Spring 2011’s neutral trend. Pink Tartan’s eye opening collection was akin to the collections of Gucci and Diane von Furstenburg.

Romantic/ Sheer Fabrics
Romanticism was revered by Valentino for Spring 2011. Basch, Rachel Mara, Pink Tartan and Marthe Aimé captured this chic, romantic trend last week.

One Shoulder Dresses and tops
The spotlight was on the shoulder at LG Fashion week with designers like Pink Tartan and Line Knitwear incorporating the trend into their designs. This sexy yet sophisticated trend was also seen on the Paris, Milan and New York runways by Vera Wang, Emporio Armani, Christian Dior and Lanvin.

That 70’s Show
There is no denying that the seventies are back for Spring, with everyone from Marc Jacobs to Gucci taking us back into time. High waistlines and groovy prints were imminent at Toronto’s Fashion Week.
Neutral/ White
As seen on the runways of Milan, Paris, London and New York by the likes of international fashion dominators such as Oscar de La Renta and Derek Lam, the white/neutral trend followed suite here in Toronto.
